Natural pearls?

Is this vintage necklace made of natural pearls?
Is it possible to tell from pictures? I really liked the unusual shape of the pearls but thought it was on the expensive side so here I am asking if it looks good.

Can you provide more information regarding the provenance (location and seller, estimated age)? Where there is doubt lab certification is the only way of really knowing, but an educated guess is likely possible. Another picture with a closeup of the clasp might offer clues for the jewelers here.

BTW the two thumbnails together form a heart, nice touch if intentional!

They look a lot like some old Biwa pearls I have.

To me they look like cultured Chinese FWP from a couple of decades ago. I had some like these.

They look like Chinese freshwater pearls to me...kind of "egg shaped!
