Welcome Paresh,
Besides being in the pearl industry, are you a collector of pearls yourself ?
What is that type of pearls you are showing above, from which oyster does it come?

Hello Cliclasp,

Yes,besides my pearl business, I do collect fine & unusual pearls & gems.
The pearl in the picture is Natural Freshwater Pearl from my collection.

Hi Paras
The right half of your post is missing. I am fairly sure it is because of the address being so long. I suggest you just put the country name up there and go to your signature page by clinking on"Profile" above on the top bar. Then put your address and contact info down there.

Where is that freshwater pearl from? From what mussel is it?

Hi Caitlin,
Thanks for your suggestion, done accordingly.
I have purchased this unusual Natural Pearls along with many Natural Pearls lots from a very old Pearl collector as he wanted to sell his pearl collection due to his age.
He had collected this during his 70 years in this business. When I asked he could only recollect that this were fresh water Natural Pearls.
I would appreciate if any in the Pearl Forum has more info on this Pearls.

This is another pearl from the collection.
size 23.64mm x 22.77mm, weight 27.30cts.

Did they ever get freshwater pearls from Indian rivers?I have only heard of them from the river Tay in Scotland and from the Mississippi River drainage system and a few other places in North America.

Yes, occasionally there are reports of someone finding Fresh water Natural Pearls from rivers in India, but they are very rare cases. But there are Natural Pearls found in Indian sea at various places.
