i was eating an oyster last summer and found this pearl inside. the oyster came out of the long island sound, ny. i've heard that they can be worth some money depending on the shape, size, and color. this one is about 5mm in diameter and 10mm in length. it's in the shape of a teardrop. i'm attaching a pic. i know it's hard to give an estimate of price. but if anyone could give me a general ballpark, that would be much appreciated. i don't want to bother getting it appraised if it's not worth anything. thanks in advance.
