Just wished to share an exceptional pair of earclips I recently purchased from a rich family estate...
Both pearls are natural saltwater pearls and 1st one measures 11.10mm in diameter and about 13.40mm high, while the other is 11.22mm in diameter and about 13.57mm high. The 120 round brilliant and baguette diamonds additionally add another estimated 8.48 carats to this overall beauty. I have not yet had enough time to crop the digital X-ray images to attach them below, but along with the normal photos you will view underneath, I am further sending a couple of other photos trying to visualize the UV light test (showing strong yellowish tint), the "bright light" test, as well as a 200x magnification of the surface. I'm not a professional photographer, so most images might be a little out of focus and some lighting and colors might not be very correct, but I am sure you will get a good idea of the pair. I will try adding the X-rays whenever I'm ready with them. Hope you enjoy...

WOW! (I say wow often) Those certainly fall in the spectacular class! Although I'm not really a fan of diamonds, the mix of rounds and baguettes is very gracefully designed. Are the drops removable?

The xrays and other photos are fascinating. We don't get to see those often. Thanks very much and welcome to the forum!

Oh, yes. I forgot to mention it - the pearl pendants are detachable from the upper parts...

How very lovely! It would be fascinating to see the xrays, too.

X-Rays

X-Rays

Here you go with the X-rays...
You can clearly see the growth rings of the natural nacre and a little nucleus smudge in one of them.
Unfortunately, some sort of vibration had distracted the image of the 2nd pearl and the right side of the edge appears a bit coarse, but that's simply because of an external vibrations.
Hope you enjoy...

Just wanted to take your expertise on the photo done with bright light behind and the natural pearls look yellowish. Is that an easy way to find out natural versus cultivated pearls.
I am doing the similar tests with a 208 lumen led light and come to the same conclusions as its the same yellowish color i see on the pearls certified by GIA as natural saltwater.

Thanks

Did the pearls come in as natural.
I am doing the similar led light test and compare other pearls i have to the GIA natural saltwater pearls and see the same yellowish color you see in your beautiful pearls.

Lovely collection and very interesting photos. I am curious, how did you take x-rays of the pearls? Did you go to any lab to have these done or do you have connection with radiography lab somewhere? Do the photo-yellowness under UV light indicate that these are indeed natural? I would be curious to do a side-by-side comparison of natural vs cultured pearl photos under UV light. Again, how do you take these photos?

I am a novice and am getting fascinated to learn more and more of the pearls and its associated industry.

Cheers

I love the design of the earrings, and the pearls are well-matched, lovely!

DK :)
