Hi, some of you may have seen this on the other forum, but I just got a query about my huggies on this forum so I thought I'll start a new thread so I don't disrupt the other thread.

My huggies are custom made locally at a workshop - I misplaced my receipt so I can't advise the carat weight for the diamonds used on the huggies or the accents on the pearl drops, but I'll return here to post the info next time I go to the workshop again (probably in a month or two).

Both sets of drops are from Golay Singapore. I was quite smitten when I saw them.

The drops (I used the bigger of the two pairs for the huggies):

I really like this setting cos it's quite versatile - I can wear the huggies on their own, or with various pearl drops (I'm looking for more to join the collection), or even with other diamond drops or gemstones if I add them to my collection next time.

Before settling on this set of huggies, I was deciding between either a micro-pave one, or one with a single row of diamonds. I also considered how long the huggies would be (so it 'hugs' my lobes more closely or not), how thick (width) they are and if I also wanted a row of diamonds at the back. I looked online and locally for quite a while before customising as I couldn't find the right combi around - if you know where to get great huggies, pls do share with us!

As mentioned, I'll be back with the carat weight next time (and hopefully with more drops to add to my collection). :)

They are simply magnificent. Thank you for sharing and wear in the best of health!!!

Lovely, Icyjade -- I guess you remember that I asked you about your huggies on PS as I was looking for something similar online. Whiteflash used to have something similar in stock but there was more metal besides the diamonds, so in my opinion they weren't as nice as yours.

Kiki McDonough in the UK has something similar, but a bit smaller -- 12mm instead of 14mm length -- but I'm not sure if the diamonds sparkle like yours. You may have seen them in photos of the Duchess of Cambridge, who has a pair in YG.

As for your drops, particularly your Tahitian drops, they are so out-of-this-world beautiful they should make your thread a sticky! I've never seen prettier than these.

thank you so much, Icy!!! Yours are exactly what I'm looking for!! Just the right amount of metal and nice sparkly diamonds!!! Looks like 9 diamonds on the front of each- is that correct?

The Tahitians are amazing and the setting is perfect. I never get tired of seeing these drops!

I love these earrings every time I see them. (I have the pics saved in my inspiration folder.) Both sets of drops are just magnificent.

Icy, IIRC, on the PS thread you said the diamond accents on the eyepins are 0.09 carats.

Icy Jade next time you go to your jeweller, would you be able to ask them if they can make non-pierced diamond huggies?
Thank you.

Thank you for your kind comments about my drops n huggies!
Those drops are gorgeous and I was very lucky to meet them and make them mine. Hope to get a few more pairs in various colors soon...

Tucs: the Kiki McDonough ones are expensive (I think double what I got mine for)! And they have a band of metal along each side - personally I prefer diamonds to be set so that they are more visible (I.e less metal showing). But I really like the range of gems that can be added - so versatile.

Pinkjewel: yes 9 diamonds.

Kelluvpearls: yes I can.

Actually I don't know if my workshop sells/ships overseas, but i can ask. If anyone else is keen, let me know (pm or on this thread). No promises but asking is free anyway. I can also ask about the eyepins (with or without diamond accents) as well - I like my eyepins to be as discreet as possible and getting them with the huggies makes sense. And I guess it can't be that hard to stick them into half drilled pearls yourself... Fyi they only use 18k gold (they can of course make in yg, wg, rg or other precious metals).

But as mentioned I don't plan to pop by soon, but probably within the next two months. So only if you don't mind waiting...

Thanks Icyjade, I would definitely be interested. Please let us know, I am in no rush.

Beautiful, so well thought out, and suit you so well.
Just love the versatility - pair of huggies (love the name too!) plus drop plus another drop plus a round plus a baroque plus plus plus...
As you said, just keep collecting!
