My box just ARRIVED!!

I couldn't resist Jeremy's price on the big fat beautiful freshwater pearls... so right in the middle of Christmas, I bought myself a pretty!!

What if it isn't as pretty as I'm hoping?

What if it IS and I never want to take it off?

Dana, you make me laugh!! I'm like you. If it is pearls for stock, I would open it straight away. Pearls for me? Well, I would wait until I was truly ready, and probably save it as some little treat to open it... you know, after I'd cleaned the kitchen after dinner, or after I'd vacuumed or something so that I felt like I deserved them...
Hope you've opened them now, they are really a nice looking strand on the site.. we want a neck(and head?) shot...

WELL...

I finally opened the box.

ACTUALLY I had someone else open the box and I covered my eyes..."Don't show me! Don't show me!"
(Gyah..do I need a pacifier or WHAT? )

So, the pearls were much bigger than I expected and very very beautiful. They appear a bit more lustrous in the web photo than they do in person. On the web, they're quite mirror-like, but in real life they look more like pretty pearls, with some luster but not quite like in the picture.

And, yes, they look pretty on....also shorter than I imagined...which is GOOD. I wore them all night with my Seaside t-shirt and jeans and intended on sleeping with them ( ) but better sense caught up with me and they're enjoying the morning nestled in the velvet box.

I'll get my girl to take a pic in a bit!

(Ha ha, Nerida....that was EXACTLY what I was thinking! "Hmmm...after I organize the house, the kitchen, my LIFE....THEN I'll open them as a reward! Woo Hoo! I'll see my pearls in TEN YEARS!! Ha! )

I'm a firm believer in sleeping in pearls on occasion...makes them feel loved...(I slept with my black gumball Tahitians on last night!). My husband doesn't even comment - I guess that's the least of my eccentricities!

I'm usually a rip the package sort, but with pearls, I wait a few hours sometimes. I enjoy the anticipation and I'm usually a little nervous... almost as if I'm about to meet someone I think I might love.
