As promised, I visited Lang Antiques in San Francisco after RUCKUS and tried on their diamond tiara:

Cynthia at Lang was very sweet to me and let me try on, handle and photograph items. Greg thought I wanted to go to a "junk shop" when I mentioned Lang Antiques. He had no idea what he was in for.

P.S. The tiara is only $17,500.00 so it's actually very affordable, considering.

It's not my favorite style of tiara, but looking at the photos, it really goes with the wave in my hair.

I also tried on some of their pearls. I think these are naturals.

These earrings were heavy. The pearls are naturals, and flat. The backs of the pearls are hidden completely by metal.

This brooch screamed Elizabeth Taylor. The pearls were to die for on this brooch. South Sea and akoya, both.

This dog collar of naturals fit me perfectly. And what an unusual stringing technique.

And last, but not least, the "time share" necklace I posted about a few months ago for $95,000.00. It's even better in person.

Looking lovely; definitely a regal gleam in your eye, BWeaves!

Thanks Pattye! I think the red plastic glasses clash a bit. I need to buy some white metal glasses with rhinestones to go with it instead.

Wow, golly, you hit the mother load! Thanks for sharing these beautiful pieces!!!

WOAH! what an awesome place to get to visit, perfect person to visit! :) Thanks for sharing the pics, bweaves, looks like an awesome time was had by all (even Greg...?).

Yassssss I'm so glad you went and took pictures! Every single one of those pieces is divine.

Great photos! I have friends that work there, but I have never visited. Someday!
I love the red glasses!

thanks so much for taking us on your virtual shopping trip -- amazing!! you can totally rock that tiara!

What wonderful pictures! I would kill to go to Lang's for an afternoon. If I could bring a loupe, calipers, camera and ogle every aspect of construction and mechanism, I would be a very happy girl indeed. Ok, that might be a bit much but maybe the rest of you could distract their team for me ;)

The offered me a loupe and took much more out than I've shown for me to handle and photograph. The opals were amazing. I took video because they needed movement, but I can't seem to upload them here.

They were super sweet to me considering I wasn't buying. Knowing now what everything looks like in person, I would feel very confident ordering from them online.

Just rhinestones wouldn't be enough for you, my dear, you need the whole shebang.

Sounds like Lang's were wonderful hosts! It's always nice to hear that stores that we adore online are actually a treat to visit in person, too.

WOW, BW!!! What a great opportunity, AND what great hosts!!!

Wow! How fun!! We went through SF to San Rafael. No antiques, but did manage a walk Amon the redwoods, a few more pearls, and a bit more fun. Big Sur Lodge now ... 12 guests and 500 firefighters ... we feel safe :)

OOOOO, I want to walk among the redwoods. We went on a tour which took us through Muir Woods for 1 hour. It wasn't enough time.
