i'm just pleased as punch to see one that doesn't look like an orange ping pong ball (see old thread). Gives credibility to the category. Color is right for genus.
As with those bizarre Abalone baroques of immense size, it's not about the beauty but rather the huge mass of color. This, if certified, would have significant value to collectors and make a fine centerpiece in a latter-day objet d'art. Visible flame would be a bonus, and it would sure be great to have better shots.

Cornuta is a possibility but the Cassis range of color wants to reside on the brickish side of orange.could it not be a cassis cornuta pearl? because there are lots of white spaces in the picture and the shape so far i have only see cassis go this shape and not melo melo
