Hello, is anyone interested in having a go at Gem Association of Australia's Advanced Pearls course?

I've been asking about this course for a while, and apparently it can't run until minimum numbers express interest, at least 8 people. 10 is a nice round number (must be the Virgo in me).

PurlGirl - I know you're an Aussie, and Nerida??

Hi, (Nerida your message inbox is full!!)

Here's the message that *would* have reached you :)

Ahh..yay! Pleasure to formally make your acquaintance Nerida! I was looking dismayed at the lack of response to my thread but I've just noticed your message.

You know as much as I do right now :( I've asked and asked about it since Dec and gotten no where until this week when someone in the office finally explained the attendance situation, hence my request for interest.

Yesterday I asked for details on the curriculum, cost ball park, duration and study location requirements etc but no word yet (I'm not worried though, you know gem folk.. not the most urgent), as soon as I know or am sent a pdf I'll let you know.

From the tidbits I have gathered from staff at GAA apparently it's is more scientifically gemological based (if that makes any sense), using instruments to study colour etc.. as opposed to history of pearl and how cultured industry began...but I can't gurantee anything since I haven't actually read any course literature yet.

As soon as I know I'll let you know.

Kind regards,
Ursula
