There have been some very good pearls taken from the rivers. My cousin has a 21mm round that is really something. There are a lot of rosebud pearls also.Wow, they are pretty. I also had no idea that Mississippi naturals could be so big, either. Colours are beautiful.
Good job. I'd wear those!
I wish I could even see it again. He keeps in in a bank vault. He found it about 20 years ago and I haven't seen it in 15 probably. I actually have a very small collection compaired to some other divers and shell buyers I know. I knew a shell buyer who had a pickle jar full. I mean a real big pickle jar. But he was arrested and sent to prison for poaching. Don't know what became of his pearls. Maybe U.S. Fish and Wildlife knows.Me, too! They're beautiful.
And Mikeyy, I'm sure you could convince your cousin that your dear tattooed mermaid pearlfreak friend whom you haven't met but who must be really deserving would make an excellent long-term guardian for his 21mm round pearl....

Hi Mikeyy,
Those are terrific! Love the textured gold mountings, and sooooo much iridescence on the pearls---what size is the unmounted pearl in next to last photo?
It would be great if your cousin could cough up a photo or two also, for scientific purposes, of course-------------
And by the way. Thanks for the tat shots. I'm not anti tat. I could never figure out what to get until I saw your pics. So next time I'm standing around while my friends are getting inked I'll be able to sit and join the club.Me, too! They're beautiful.

Sure! This is how I did it. You go underwater in pitch black conditions. Then you start feeling around the bottom for shells. Then you throw them in your bag. And then your boat tender (Slave labor) pulls that bag up while you pull another down and begin filling it again. Then your tender seperates your shells. Whenever he or she finds a misformed shell. They will set it aside in a bucket. Then at the end of a long hard day. You get your knife out and see if you've scored a pearl. Your going to find one eventually. It may be ten tons of shells later. But if your very commited it will happen.Wowee Mike!
Is it possible to get one?
