A while back, I received a conch pearl from my husband for our anniversary. I went back and forth on what sort of pendant I wanted. Some forum members were truly helpful. You'll notice in the first picture, the pearl is in a 4 prong mount. I wore it like this for a year because I was afraid to drill it. I know drilling lessens the value, but it never laid properly in the pronged mount. I also have no intentions of ever selling it. I finally found someone I trusted to drill it and decided on having an heirloom brooch deconstructed and used. This is the result! A necklace and a pair of earrings -- and I still have 6 pearls and 2 diamonds to play with later. It was truly worth the wait.
