I recently purchased a ring, but the pearl, while large (10 mm) is irregular in shape and has some 'bumps' on it. Was just wondering whether this could mean it is a natural pearl vs a cultured one. Many thanks.
The ring looks like it could be pretty old but a 10mm natural would be a heck of a find and not something you'd likely buy by accident. I think the likely candidate is a cultured Tahitian pearl - do you have more info on where the ring came from?
Hi and thanks for answering. I purchased the ring from the online Goodwill site. It does have a mark inside which is an S in a square for sterling. The pearl is silver in color.
