Is this a real freshwater pearl?

I was rooting through my jewelery box when I found this old necklace. I was given it 2 years ago, but I never found a chance to wear it. I was told at the time that it was a freshwater pearl from the Caribbean.



I would love it if someone could confirm if it was real or not. Apologies for the poor picture quality.

It is a freshwater pearl, and it is most likely from China. It may have been purchased in the Caribbean, but it isn't actually from there.

It appears to be a freshwater pearl, actually three pearls that fused together during growout.

The front side looks like it has very good luster, but this type of pearl probably wouldn't be graded.
