first of all im sorry for destroying a 17 mm black pearl i know all our hearts are with him :p

its quite hard to explain how and why some pearls are better then the others so today we took the different types of pearls we have and cut them in two because the nacre part is the hardest part to see

the large one is a 17 mm cook island pearl and with a 3,2 mm nacre its not hard to explain to my costumers why these pearls are from a good quality the middle gray one is a normal sold as tahitian pearl from another wholesaler and the one size smaller gray one is also from the cook islands what i supply and also a thick nacre

the full black one is a keshi

and the white one a freshwater that only has a 0,5 mm nacre

so now it became quite easy to explain to the jewellery stores i sell to why the pearls i have are a good quality ;) enjoy

Great idea and a good educational tool. Poor little pearls, though!

Great to see the nacre, sorry about the pearls but happy about the education, thank you!
