It was a nice sunny day, so I thought I'd take the GoPro camera out to the reef. I turned on the camera, picked a random mussel, shucked it open and there it was in plain view.

A nice butter colored, 6.4mm, off-round pearl.

Mikeyy suggested I take my GoPro gold panning next time. ;)

Thanks Derek.

We ought to meet up after you get back from the gem show. I've not been on the mainland for a while, it's overdue.

Derek saw your photo at the Canadian Gemological Conference in Vancouver! Small world, huh? :)

Hi Dave, whenever you are in Vancouver, shoot me a message, I'd love to purchase some of your mussel pearls.

Is that the photo for receiving the award? I'm not sure why they put a photo in the book, a mention of my name would've been more than enough.

Not sure what image that would be. I furnished Blaire with a few macros and SEMs for her talk while she was in Vancouver last year.

Sorry I misread, as I often do, I believe you showed the pictures from your website. Brain doesn't always read things properly when I'm tired.
