Good pearls for under 300 please help?

So my boyfriend asked me what i wanted for my birthday and i told him i wanted some nice pearls, and he told me if i could help him pick them out and then i realized i really know nothing about pearls i went to the jewelers but i'm scared i'm going to get ripped of because i really don't know the difference between pearls all i know is i would like a good quality strand in white or a cream color that are round pearls i know i am not going to get the nicest pearls for 300 but i would like to get the best for that price, it can go a little bit past it but around 300 is my budget please post links to some nice strands please i would really appreciate your guys help

It really depends on what type of piece you are thinking of. If you are considering a strand of pearls, that budget would be best suited to a round strand of freshwater pearls. If you are thinking earrings, the budget would allow for a nice pair of akoya, Tahitian or even small South Sea.

thanks and i really want a strand of pearls that will last a long time, i saw these 2 strands i liked on a site that was recomended on here http://www.pearlparadise.com/7580-mm-White-Freshwater-Pearl-Necklace60.aspx i would get them in the 18 inch strand with a gold clasp does that sound nice? or maybe these http://www.pearlparadise.com/7580-mm-White-Freshadama-Freshwater-Pearl-Necklace746.aspx also in the 18 inch strand which do you think would be better im honestly clueless about which is better because the first strand says its AAA and i think i read on here that thats good? and the second strand isnt AAA im lost hehe

Where is your location and what size of pearl you want? You can get nice freshwater pearl strand with that budget, but it depends on the pearl size.

The first link shows pearl necklace in AA+ and AAA grade. While second one is Freshadama (better than AAA). You can read here to understand about their grading http://www.pearlparadise.com/Freshwater-pearl-grading.htm


If you're not sure which to choose between AAA and Freshadama, you may contact the sales rep and ask for picture of the two grades side by side. That will probably give you better idea which quality you'll go for.
