Gold Cupid on an Antique Pearl

Hi All,

Thought I would share this with you. It just might appeal to someone. It is on eBay but I will not be bidding and so far it has not gone sky high although the auction ends in just over 30 hours and items often go high in the last hour or so.

That is odd. The pearl is shaped like the brain case of homo erectus

Actually the seller has it listed as a Cultured Freshwater Pearl which I doubt it is. I think it is a natural pearl although I am not sure on whether it is freshwater or saltwater. Probably freshwater but saltwater pearls can have what I call dead spots on them too.

The site actually has loads of photos so anyone interested should have a look at it. I spotted a couple of other broochs/pins with pearls and animals but there didn't seem to be much interest in this one so didn't bother adding them.
