Hi Caitlin,
Following our conversation in the other forum, this is a very informative site about freshwater mussels. It cover many aspects of north American, South American, Australia and Africa generas. I hope you and the other members of the forum enjoy.

Lamprotula pearls are really the epitomie of nacreous beauty.

The name rung familiar when you mentioned (and then run a search and found Zeide's picture!), but it was for Vietnamese pearl nuclei, unfortunately, not pearls... Is this mussel used for pearl culture anywhere?

With all due respect, I posted this link in November. It is a mere 5-6 threads below this one. I guess I should make it a "sticky".
I have poured over this list many times. However, it has not helped me find the best mussel for my tank.
