My fiance and I were eating Oysters in an Atlanta restauraunt and lo and behold there was a pearl inside one of the Oysters. I know nothing about them.....except I did read that finding a pearl in an edible Oyster is very rare. I was directed to your page when I was searching for information on the web. You are all the experts, can you tell me if there is any real value to this pearl? It's not a normal shiny pearl, it is rough around the edges, shaped like a jelly bean and you can see the peice of sand on one end. I've attached a picture of when we first found it, if you'd like to see more I will gladly post. But I'd love to know your thoughts!

very nice sized find, usually they are much smaller - but unfortunately not much value. Most people hang on to them as keepsakes or have a small piece of jewelry made.
