I noticed a full oyster shell on a beach in the San Juan Islands and gently opened it, and there was a pearl inside. From what I can tell, it's a Pacific Oyster, but I would love any info I can find on the oyster and the pearl. Thanks!
that's a pearl alright, great find! You don't hear of many pearls coming from the PNW. Unfortunately there isn't much cash value to the pearl but still a cool find none the less.
What a fortunate experience! That pearl is pretty large also! You might be able to wear it as a pendant as it seems like a bead cap could be glued onto it. Cool find!
