I see there have been a few of these types of posts, so thought I'd add mine. I'm visiting some friends in the Seattle area. Today we went to Pikes Market Place and purchased some large Pacific Oysters for dinner. We bbq'd them and while eating one I bit down and to my surprise found what I believe is a pearl. Just curious on your thoughts about it. Doubt it has much monetary value, but definitely now has personal value to me. Thinking about turning it into a necklace. Now to find a jeweler. Attached are the pics I took of it.

I too admire that table!

What a sweet bit of luck to find a pearl! totally memorable. I think a necklace is a great idea.

Once in a while you can find a little basket charm that encases the whole pearl inside where it floats around and can be admired. I have no idea what would be involved in drilling it, but I wouldn't take the chance. I'll go see if I can find any examples of basket charms - they aren't that easy to find.... be back later!

Perjenni,

Welcome and thank you for sharing your find! Lucky You!!

The shape of this one might allow it to be glued into a bead cap. There are also some cute tiny glass vials it could be put in and made into a pendant. Check your favorite bead supply store or local craft store like Michaels.
