You may have read about flooding over here (jet stream going very fast and pushing lots of sea and high tides at west coast rivers which then back up and spill over). This morning some flooding took out the Pearlescence website. The servers were fine but the data cabling was flooded and u/s for a short time. Scary, even with the knowledge that there is a full and constantly updated backup 150 miles away. We're back now (our webmaster Neil may be wearing his underpants over his trousers) but it is a salutory warning to ensure backup of website for those of us who have selling websites. If you doubt that this is necessary...how long would it take you to re-create - from scratch - your website? All the pix, the descriptions, the extra stuff? It's enough to make a person wake up screaming.
Because I'm so relieved (even knowing that the back ups were in place) we are offering a (fresh)water pearl phone tag with every order today.

Scary stuff, Wendy!

Glad you're okay now, with the help of your [superhero] webmaster Neil.

ha! you chug along like a happy skippy bunny then something like this happens ...and the back up 150 miles away get hit by a meteorite...and where would we start to re-build the site.......arghhhhhhhhhh. I am soooooooo in favour of back-ups today

Oh no Wendy! So happy to hear you are safe and your site os back up and running!

The pearls were never in danger. The website is hosted about 200 miles away and it was that area which was flooded
