They are all like that, only because they ship and then invoice. The international dealers demand payment (typically) before they will even start production.
I thought Stuller had a falling out with Paspaley. Are they back together again?
If you were going to buy much from Stuller (Paspaley pearls), it might be worth your while to take a trip to the Paspaley offices in HK. You'd likely save quite a bit.
According to Stuller's website, they're still selling Paspaley pearls. I read many trade publications...... I must have missed something along the way because I never read anything about a falling out between the two companies. I'd certainly consider that newsworthy. Then again, you are privy to sources that most of us are not, but if you did read about this news somewhere, and are able to share where you read this, I'd really appreciate knowing.
As far as going to their offices in Hong Kong, I don't consider myself to be a "big" buyer, I'm just a goldsmith. Although, I've made several pearl purchases over the years, they probably consider me just "small potatoes". Next year, I might be fortunate enough to attend the HK show in Sept. and possibly then try for an appointment in their HK office.

I think you told me that before, when we had dinner, so I checked into it right away and everyone laughed at me. Whatever happened, it must have been a glitch or wishful thinking on the part of competitors.
