I want to buy some Akoyas....I've read the discussions about the durability issues with Akoyas. I still like the way they look and I want some. Can anyone recommend a source for Akoyas that will hold up over time? You vendors out there ...are your customers satisfied with the longevity of your good Akoya strands?

Can anyone recommend a source for natural color Akoyas.

Thanks so much!

Hi Pearl_goddess,
Welcome to the forum. :)

I've bought untreated akoyas from PearlParadise and am delighted with them.
So delighted that I bought more recently when they had some.

I'm not sure if any other vendors here have some, so it might be worth emailing them.

Hi Pearl_goddess, welcome. If you want akoyas, by all means, purchase akoyas! Don't let anyone talk you out of them. When they are on your neck and you feel how smooth and sensual they are, well, it's not even a toss up. Any of the vendors on this site has great akoyas. Have you looked at Pearl Outlet's colored akoyas? They are very reasonably priced. I just checked their pricing for those a couple of days ago. Also, check out Pearl Oasis to see if they are running a special on hanadamas.

(Here's another hint, one which will probably cause me to lose my pearl license, but get on all the vendor's e-mail sales lists. With Mother's Day coming up, I'm sure someone will have a great(er) price on their akoyas.)
