I know they are 13 mm and I paid $900 to a lady who brought them back from overseas on a pearl trip. She brought pearls for many of her Beverly Hills clients and I happened to know one of her clients. I do not know what part of " over seas" she brought them from. The claps I assume is sliver because it's tarnished and I need to clean. These have been in my drawer since 2005. I wonder how much they are worth. Let me know if the pictures don't show up.

It looks like you have a strand of ringed Chinese freshwater pearls that have been dyed. Ringed freshwater pearls aren't tremendously valuable, unfortunately. If you paid $900, that is definitely in the high retail range.

For price comparisons, you can likely find several on eBay, where prices could range from just a few dollars to maybe as much as $100. For non-eBay retail, this is the sort of product that is sold on shopping channels like QVC and HSN. There the retail would likely be $100 to $200 for a strand.

That must be the Beverly Hills markup. In 2005, they were probably worth more than they are now because the size was extra-large for the time, but for $900, I would expect to see them in a shop on Rodeo Drive with a solid gold clasp. The good thing is they are beautiful. I hope you take them out of the drawer and have some fun wearing them. :)

Wow, yes they are beautiful but I'm sad they are not not valuable or just that I may have over paid. They are very heavy if that makes a difference. It's like wearing rocks. I have those HSN kind and those are very light. Also you are right the clasp should be gold. Bummer. Next time I'll go to an expert instead of private home to buy. Thanks for your comments
