Could this be a saltwater pearl?

This seems bigger than many pearls I have, could it be a salt water pearl? Would it be a southsea pearl? Or freshwater?

Just by looking at it...it could even be an imitation.

Thank you! It is pretty gritty. (Not as gritty as the freshwater I have, more like the Akoya.) I'll try to get closer.
