Convertible Necklace

Here is one of my latest projects. The pearls are large, very cheap, FW pearls that I bought at a bead show. They have a lot of surface imperfections, but they were the right size for this project (and the price was right!) It is finished with a vermeil magnetic clasp, and the centerpiece was made with the same clasp so that I can take it out. I have another centerpiece that I made with a large carved jade disc and carved beads, this one is a carved agate leaf, carnelian, goldfilled and sunstone beads. I have one more set of the clasps that I will turn into another centerpiece!! Sorry for the huge photo......

Well done ! And I quite like the cheap big fat white pearls ..I use them in stretchy bracelets ...very cool and you don't have to worry about them getting scratched up by metal bangles etc .

What a clever idea to use the magnetic clasps that way! I love the versatility of being able to swap out centerpieces. You can mix and match several centerpieces and strands for multiple looks.
