'Chocolate Pearls' silk and clasp choice?

My friend just sent me a beautiful 9.5mm strand of chocolate pearls. I'm wondering what yall would suggest for best silk color choice and clasp color choice.

I'm thinking yellow 14k gold filigree basket clasp but what about the thread? White silk? I've never paid attention to thread color when stringing dark pearls. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Dana:
What a lovely gift! How dark are the chocolate pearls? I personally love white silk with almost everything but I'm finding myself more of a purist at heart as I get older. Although, thanks to "Caitlin", I have wandered away from actual silk on occassion and now use things that don't stretch. If you like color you might try matching the pearls or using something a shade lighter. Just my 2c...

oooOh!!! I just realized when I saw those silk cards. A while ago I ordered some beige silk and a store sent brown instead. It will be perfect!!

Can't wait to see them strung. I'm not a huge fan of the chocolate but there are some dandy coppery pearls mixed in and it should be quite eye-catching. I'll post a pic when I'm done.

Needs to be dark - either brown or black. White looks one-size-fits-all.
