Hi everyone. I'm new to this board so I'm sorry if I ask many questions. :) I have many pearls which I don't know much about. I hope to gain some knowledge from you experts. First I have this necklace, it's marked 14k. The pearls average 10mm in size. They are not perfectly round. I estimate each one to weigh 1.5grams. There are no other markings on the chain. my questions are;

1) Where did these pearls originate?
2) Aside from the gold content, what is the value for these pearls?

Thank You In Advance!!

Ramsy

They look like Chinese freshwater pearls-- probably made into a "tin cup" style necklace before the price of gold skyrocketed, maybe 10 years ago or so?

Nowadays it is easier to find rounder freshwater pearls, and with the price of gold so high, I'm not sure anyone would bother to put such irregularly shaped freshwater pearls onto a gold chain. The value of the necklace is in the gold, if you plan to sell the piece.
