Hello!

I don’t yet have any experience with saltwater pearls, but I am considering getting a blue baroque akoya necklace, and I have a few questions. I’ve read that white akoyas turn a distinct cream color as they age. Does this happen to blue akoyas as well?

For those of you who own blue baroque akoyas, how long have you had them, how often do you wear them, and how do they look?

I've had mine for 7-10 years. They're still as blue as when I bought them. I wear them often.

It might take 40 - 50 years for white pearls to yellow. Keeping them clean, restrung often, worn often, and not languishing in a box for decades helps keep them nice.

Thank you. That’s really good to hear!

Keep in mind that 'blue' is a lot of things. I dreamed of those sky-blue Akoya with pink flashes but what i could afford looks a lot more silver blue-ish and only actually blue in certain light. I tried twice, then gave up, realising I didn't have the money for what I really wanted. I stil have two disappointing strands of mostly silver with a blue tint.
