Can someone help me. I have a black clam pearl my Mother found many years ago, she had it mounted on a ring with a white pearl. Don't know if the white pearl is anything but what is the worth of the black?

We don't normally do appraisals at P-G, insomuch as help you identify your pearls and steer you in the right direction to reputable collectors.

That said, we'll need a lot more information. If you have any recollection or history as to the origin and species of the pearl, please comment.

If you know the crafter or shop that did the work, it's a big help.

Likewise, more photos from different angles (side, back), using macro settings against a plain white background.

Does the pearl pass light when held up to light source?

A jet black pearl from a clam is unheard of. Even Tahitian pearls are not true black.

Chinese FWP are dyed black with blue undertones, which is how this pearl presents and why I'm asking for more information.

Some pen pearls are black, but usually dark brown.
