Are they even real?

My mother gave me this pearl necklace and bracelet set. I'm not sure they are even real. They feel smooth on the "tooth test".

My father gave them to her for their wedding in 1959. He is no longer around to ask where they were purchased or anything regarding authenticity.

It seems as if there are tiny silver beads in between each "pearl". They are green and tarnished. I originally thought it was mold on a knot, but upon closer investigation today, it seems that they are too hard, and probably metal.

No, they don't appear to be real, unfortunately. The value would be sentimental.

I think the style, especially the clasp, is very cool, very vintage. I would treasure them for what they mean, and wear them every now and then!
