Are these dyed akoyas?

Just bought this pair of 7mm akoya pearl studs online and was a little surprised by the darker shade of grey—the photos on the site showed a more silvery shade. Could they be dyed? I paid around 50usd for them

Yes, they appear to be dyed.

Totally. There are no "black akoya pearls" unless they are dyed or irradiated.

Thank you all for the replies! They are still very beautiful pearls — though not really suited for my warm, yellow-pink skin. Will keep them for gifting in the future!

They are pretty! Dyed/colored/irradiated pearls don't have to be awful. But vendors do have to be clear and honest: the customer deserves it.
So, as long as they clearly state what they are -colorwise- all is fine in the world
