Are these abalone pearls and FWs?

Hi all, I was intrigued by a strand at auction and it was cheap enough for my curiosity to get the better of me.

Please can I ask your expert eyes on what types of pearls these are?

When I bought them at auction, I thought they were: abalone (but are they mabe due to the flat bottom? Most, but not all, are flat bottomed), and various shades of freshwater? I’ve not seen these greyish shades of FW before.

Also, silly question - would polishing them bring out more iridescence?

Thanks!

I agree with @Lagoon Island Pearls
Those are freshwater pearls...the green ones have been dyed to resemble Abalone pearls but don't come close!

Judging by the numerous flat spots and visible centres, they appear to me as dyed grafted/re-grafted button nuclei.

Polishing will make things worse.
Thank you! I’m now curious as to what they’re like if they are polished… might do a little experiment

Thank you! Thankfully I didn’t pay much for them haha
