any ideas on my first pearls? saltwater, freshwater or no water!

My very first pearls, from circa 1980 with 9ct gold garnet and seed pearl set clasp which is hallmarked for the Birmingham assay office. The strand recently broke and I am having trouble finding someone to restring for me as it is a "complicated design"

These are supposed to be Japanese Akoya pearls. I bought them in 2005 on ebay. They have an elaborate 14ct diamond set clasp and a drop pearl pendant. I do love them although I don't find them wearable for every day.

LJ, Beautiful pearls, looking forward to seeing more of the woven pearl necklace with that gorgeous garnet and seed pearl clasp! The diamond clasp with the drop pendant is unique and beautiful, too!
