A question that arrises is whether the anti tarnish chemical that is found in jewelry boxes can it harm pearls? Does anyone here have any imput about this? Should you only store them in silk pouches. Thanks so much for your replys. Alot of you here are experts.
Anti tarnish jewelry boxes?

I have several anti-tarnish jewelry boxes; my understanding is that there is nothing in them that would harm pearls. However, keeping them separated in silk pouches inside the box would give them protection from being scratched by other gems or clasps.
My feeling is that the anti-tarnish is quite helpful; I have a lot of silver jewelry, and hate to polish!
One can also purchase anti-tarnish strips to put in a regular drawer or jewelry box, although they need to be replaced regularly.
