An oyster with 10 pearls

in fish shop in the Netherlands they opened an oyster for consumption and found 10 pearls inside. This is kind of unique don't you think so?

when one pearl is found, the oyster will be consumed but this one will be preserved, I guess
 
I think it means I need to go to the Netherlands more often��
 
Once, while having mussels for brunch one afternoon, my father broke his tooth...he spat out what he thought was a broken tooth...but instead, it was a mouth full of teeny tiny pearls. Fortunately his tooth was not really broken, but the mussel must have had 20 or so of the pearls. The second one he inspected more carefully, and it looked like a cooked version of Lagoon's photo! He sent the plate back and ordered the eggs.
 
JerseyPearl, the oyster is not mine but it was opened in Yerseke, a city in the province of Zeeland, The Netherlands, where the oyster farms are and the owner of a fish shop there opened the oyster. It looks like the oyster will go to the University in Leiden, where they have Naturalis, a museum.
 
My husband bought a dozen fresh oysters this morning ... I told him he has to open and let me inspect before cooking, just in case LOL.
 
Walter's eager for dinner JerseyPearl :) Anx he'll have them to himself as I don't like to eat oysters ... but there will be an inspection before they go on the grill LOL
