I want to purchase a pari of Mikimoto Earring from a eBay seller from Japan and she claims that all Mikimoto Pearls sold at Japan does not have a grading on the certificate like we do here in US(A,A+,AA or AAA). She said that they only described the pearls on the Mikimoto Certificate for something like" best available" or equivalent terms.

I'm wondering does anyone purchase Mikimoto from Japan before? Is this true? They don't grade pearls sold at Mikimoto Japan?

The grade of the pearl is reflected in the price, so that seems odd to me. But there is a Mikimoto certificate? And a box? Are they stamped 18k (750) on the earring? Are there good photos?

I have only sold Miki's here in the US. Each item, including earrings, came with a small rectangular hang tag attached with the size and grade, in addition to the Mikimoto Certificate and inner and outer box.
