Is anyone familiar with this company's merchandise? The website seems to not have been updated since 2011. I showed a friend the SOC Mabe ring, and they said they once owned a similar piece but from this company Eyris Blue Pearls, so I looked it up.

These are all Eyris blue pearls from my album. The pearls can be purchased from jewelry stores. I bought a pendant hand made in peach gold at a store in Akaroa harbor, New Zealand and on the same boardwalk, I purchased the handmade earrings seen in the link. The handmade ring came from a store in Christchurch. The last two pendants came from Imperial, but I don't think they are distributing for Eyris these days.

I was surprised to find an abalone mabe pearl on a home shopping network a few years back, HSN, I believe (probably sold by Imperial Pearl). I guess it's not their top quality since it's set in sterling silver and cubic zirconias and was only a couple hundred bucks on clearance, but I still think it is gorgeous! Last I heard there's only one pearl farm that produces cultured abalone pearls (and it only produces mabes), in New Zealand.

They are beautiful, I wanted to buy something when we were in New Zealand in 2013 but left it too late to find something I really liked.
One day...

Yes, Sea Urchin, Imperial was selling them on tv. Pacific Blue was the name for the pearls that had more surface variations, but there is nothing like that color. Yum!

GemGeek & SeaUrchin-

Thanks for sharing. Those pieces really are outstanding.
Now I am even more confused lol….

I am wondering if my friend actually had a "Blue" pearl (the Abalone Pearl) she has never been to New Zealand, though her Boyfriend at the time Traveled back and forth, however if I recall he never was much for giving jewelry gifts.

I was just reading up more about the Company in an expose from 2006 Modern Jeweler Magazine.

Gemgeek, how do the Eyris pearls compare to the SoC and the Indonesian blue mabe pearls?

They are very different. Sea of Cortez are like color chameleons. Eris mabes are changeable when viewed from the side and are more intensely colored. Blue South Sea pearls are beautiful, but the color is more consistent.
