Back in March, Hisano and I were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take a write and a photographer for the Financial Times to the Philippines to visit one of Jewelmer's gold South Sea pearl farms and stay on Flower Island. We were hosted by Jacques Branellec Jr and Sr. It was an amazing trip.

The article came out today in The FT.

I also brought along a GoPro camera to capture a "home video" style of experience for our friends back home. The GoPro worked incredibly well and we got some amazing arial, underwater and on the land footage.

Fabulous! Congratulations and THANK YOU for sharing with us :) !!!

Beautiful film, thanks for taking us with you. Bucket List: Scuba with Oysters!

Thanks, Jeremy. Your video saved me a trip to Flower Island. I no longer have to wonder what the Jewelmer operation looks like.

Wow! (I have to post more than 10 characters.) WOW WOW WOW!

Cool video! I tried accessing the FT article but when I searched for Jewelmer and clicked on the article link it asked me to subscribe.:p
Can I get to the article without subscribing?

I tried the free link shown in the PP blog, but the email they sent to me from the FT failed, and I'm suppressed to call customer service in the UK.

That photo works! Thank you so much, Jeremy. Are those Hisano's beautiful hands holding those stunning pearls?

I had to check a couple other photos from the trip to see what her polish looked like. Those aren't her hands! I am not certain whose they are.

PP has "offices worldwide"? I know about your world headquarters in LA. Wondering about the others.

Maybe they meant to say that your pearls are worn in offices worldwide.

We have one distribution office in Germany and another in France. Their wording sounds grander ;)

Thank you Hisano and Jeremy, I have been going to the Philippines a lot since 1972 and still think may things under Marcos were better than now, but Palawan is still on my dream list. Hope one day it will happen. I know for some years that climate changes and dynamite and cyanite fishing is a real problem. Think it is also better under control thanks to Jewelmer. In Indonesia and the Mergui area in Myanmar it is still rampant.

Cees, many (but not all) problems in our country can trace their failure to the Marcos dictatorship. And at least today, we don't have to look over our shoulders every time we criticize the government. (Like I won't be hauled to jail without the writ of habeas corpus for posting the last sentence.)

As for our marine resources, so long as a flourishing tourism industry exists in the region, dynamite and cyanide fishing is reduced, if not eradicated.

Climate change is still a problem, and so is China's insistence that the Philippine Sea is hers to pillage and re-construct as she sees fit. No doubt, China's illegal claim over this part of our country is a concern to Jewelmer.
