2nd set of pearls :)

Excited to have gotten my 2nd string of pearls (I posted about my black ones last week..which I will try to restring this weekend.)

I was told these are 7mm but haven't measured myself. Fairly lustrous - maybe even slightly more than my daughter's gem grade freshwaters. They also look rounder to me than hers, although hers are very nearly round. What is your vote? Akoya or freshwater?

These look like freshwater pearls to me....

I think they could possibly be akoya. They are very round. The surface texture looks a lot like some of my older akoya strands.

They look like freshwater to me too - the lustre is ok but not as bright as I would expect from Akoya. I'm sure your daughters pearls must be higher lustre than this if they are gem grade.

At first glance I thought they were fwp but I think I see a few flaws that might indicate they are akoya. Are the flaws seen on the third picture seen on fwps? The lack of more color depth is what made me think they were fwps.

I see flaws that look like they could be FWP; also the lower luster and meager overtones.

I need to go by a jewelry store some day and see akoya in person.
I feel like photos don't do pearls justice. In person they seem a bit higher lustre and rounder than my daughters gem grade... But with a little more surface flaws than hers.
They are both very pretty so I'm happy either way lol
