11-12mm Akoyas on eBay

I think you forgot to post this link. Is this one it?

That seller has been selling freshwater as Akoya for years. It is hard for me to fathom why the sellers feedback is not much, much lower than it is.

I would not trust any of the sellers pictures either. For this auction the seller has taken pictures of Tahitian pearl earrings from my Website.

Yeah- That's the one. Thanks!
I couldn't believe it. The necklace just does not look like akoya pearls! The luster is all wrong for akoyas and so is the size, right?

And yes, I would be afraid to buy anything from these folks and a few others on eBay. I'd be afraid I would not get what I saw in the picture, if they can't tell the truth in the picture!

Hi Caitlin & Jeremy,

There are millions of people who play the lottery every week with virtually zilch chance of winning. This is for them. On the other hand, you may bid to win the box. It for sure is a lot cheaper than a Mikimoto or a Cartier box. That is, if they actually give you the box shown. But then, you can get the boxes cheaper, too.

Update on this eBay seller. I sent the seller 2 warnings to remove my pictures and they ignored me. eBay was kind enough to remove the pictures (and auctions) and send them a warning. If it happens again they may suspend the account.
If any of you have pictures appearing on eBay that belong to you, check out the VERO program. This really works. It is a pain to monitor it, though. Before VERO we had possibly 100 of our pix up there on any given day. We would constantly receive emails asking if these pieces were ours and we were discounting on eBay. Not any more....:D
