    Thanks for your response, that's great to know! I hoped they were Akoya, but honestly had no idea whether they might be freshwater or not. If they're really from Ming's (and it sounds like they might be) then I'm guessing from the clasp that they date from the 80s or 90s. Ming's closed in 1999...
