Thank you! This is helpful. I originally thought I’d want “natural white” akoyas because I tend to like natural things, but I’m thinking “white” is what I’m ultimately looking for. I want the pearls I get to be a bit creamy; not yellow-y nor stark white.

I’m sure this has been covered before but a search with the terms “white, natural white” brings up a whole, big variety of threads. I’d love to see pictures of your white and/or natural white akoyas. I’ve gotten a picture from PP, which helps, but I’d love real life examples too.

I like the idea of an 18” hanadama with an extender. Does anyone have pictures of one and of how they look in use?

.... so...... I guess my big decision is 22” of hanadama akoya round or AAA akoya round. I think the price difference would be substantial. Hmmm....

Pattye, oh yes! I keep putting on different lengths of “pearls” (the plastic kind that even have seams 😂) and asking my husband and daughter which length looks best. They seem to like 22”. I’d love an akoya hanadama set in 22” but might need to get that as a custom. Or.... an 18” in hanadama...

With 26” strands is freshwater more typical? Or is it available in akoya? Search functions only show 26” in freshwater (at least at PP).

I’m getting the feeling that in these parts drop pearls are more desirable in pendants than round. Is there any truth to my feeling? It’s so fun to have my eyes opened to so many other possibilities.

I’m having trouble finding pictures of pendants here. There are so many beautiful necklaces and tin cups (which I had never heard of before), but not so many pendants.
