I decided on this white gold pendant setting for the darker near round golden. I got it off etsy. When I put the yellow gold settings that I already have up to the pearl it just didn't look good.
I made the akoyas into earrings today! I had originally planned to use white gold but the white gold posts I had were too thick for the hole that was already in the pearls. I'm still just as happy with the yellow gold though!
The akoyas are going to be made into one of two things - threader earrings or maybe just put onto a bit of chain with a jump ring at the end so that I can put them on as earring jackets with my natural white studs à la @jeg
The shape on the more drop shaped golden screams "I'm a pendant" to...
I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread where we can show our purchases from PP's live events.
I'll start with my most recent! All of these are from Takahashi. Two golden south sea loose pearls and a pair of gem grade natural white akoyas.
I love them all! And you can see how...
Today I did a "more is more" tahitian look. Shorter strand from PP, pendant from Jac, and longer strand from wenpearls on etsy.
Ps - please excuse the salad dressing stains on my shirt from lunch 🤣
Bweaves - how did you decide to set the kasumi?
@BWeaves - I ADORE that tin cup! Looks great paired with everything.
@jeg - lovely as always! Also a perfect rainy day ensemble.
Also.. I just saw a picture of some of the pearls being offered on PP's next live event. I saw pistachio and I am PUMPED. I will gleefully jump off Ban Island for...
@BWeaves I think that Kasumi pearl is definitely a keeper! I'm also excited for/worried about the baroque akoya event. I'm glad you got your mikis back, too!
Yes! I saved two beads that are different colors but otherwise basically the same for some dangle earrings. I'm waiting on the parts and pieces to come in!
@BWeaves I love seeing side by side comparisons of strands! And about the pistachio (pistakio) tahitians...I was really surprised when Mr. Seki said in the live that pistachio colors are not usually popular in the Asian market like they are in western markets. He was such a fountain of...
I got a drop shaped chocolate tahitian from Pearl Paradise during one of their live events a few months ago. They only had 2 in the whole show. I've never seen a vendor keep them in stock on their website - only dyed ones.
