    searching for a photo

I'm pretty sure I saw in here on pearl-guide, it was (if I recall correctly) a set of indonesian pearls someone posted, which included a yellow gold ring with one large round blue(ish) pearl. Anyone knows what I'm talking about? Thnx in advance!

    mabe questions

Thanks for all the info. If by "other clues" you're thinking about the fact that faux pearls always look too perfect, I already know that. If it's something else you have in mind, please do tell. BTW, I was thinking of a mabe (or mabe looking) pearl for a ring. Nothing fancy and overly expensive.

    mabe questions

If that's the case, I'd appreciate answers to all questions above, except first and last, like they're asked regarding button shaped FWP's. And some more - are treatments done on pearls permanent and how can I make sure that I don't end up with something like dye washing off etc.? How reliable...

    mabe questions

Are there freshwater mabe pearls? Are they expensive? Are they generally of diferent quality than other FWP's? How are they in terms of durability/wearability? Are they treated (other than shaped)? Thank you!

    Valeria - beat this:-)

I know you're eager to find that perfect golden pearl, the one that "looks like liquid gold" (if I recall the line correctly), and I think I found it (you can thank me later:D). Check THESE out (they come in matching earrings too)! They're not only golden, I'd say they're indian 22k saffron...

    pearls and gems (pic thread)

Anyone has pieces that combine pearls with faceted colored gemstones? Want to share some pics:D

    metal vs. satin?

Which do you prefer - pearls with metallic, or those with more satiny surface? I think most tahitian and akoya would probably fit in the first group, while freshwaters and south seas would mostly fall into second (although there are no rules...). I personally prefer satin luster, cause those...

    High karat pearls

Well, Greeks and Italians aren't exactly pale - maybe they are compared to most Indians, but sure aren't compared to most Europeans. Anyway, here's how "certain actresses" wear lots of karats:D

    High karat pearls

Know what you mean; remember seeing some Indian 22k earrings on a caucasian woman with light complexion - just doesen't look the same as on a darker skin. It can actually look weird...:( But those with darker skin can get away with light gold easily - it's not fair:mad: :)

    High karat pearls

OK. So, the pendant is from susancampbelljewelry.com, but the artist in question is actually Denise Betesh. Ring by Yossi Harari is from bergdorfgoodman.com. Strand with a gold/diamond clasp is from zeira.com. Hope I did good:D

    High karat pearls

Just love it! Although tahitians aren't really my thing, but this piece has quite a few silver ones, which I really like (although my favorite pearls are goldens - go figure:rolleyes:).

    High karat pearls

Pendant is Susan Campbell and ring is Yossi Harari (it looks a lot like those of Gurhan indeed).
