Do you still have an office in Kobe? I'm going to Japan in April, am interested in visiting some pearl offices, but not sure if you guys would be interested at all since I'm not a huge buyer.

Remember those add a pearl necklaces...help

I'm thinking the half a strand would be around 7-8 inches, which will make a lovely bracelet. You can then match up a necklace. If I were to give someone an add a pearl necklace I would have the whole strand at hand and give them the pearls as they grow. But that would not be a preferred gift...

    Help me pick one....

I'd have to say I agree with Hanaleimom. #6 was my first choice as well. If you are getting baroque/drop anyway, the shape should look baroque.

    Golden Akoya Pearls

I hope I get mine soon. I was silly enough to wait till the last minute to order, and there was a glitch with the invoice so it's stuck in customs. I think they are hellbent on slugging me when customs duties when it clearly doesn't go above limit. Hope it arrives before I leave for Melbourne!

    Pearllunar is active again

I'm just speaking from my experience. End user experiences may vary. Just another point for consideration.

    Pearllunar is active again

I think I've offered 25% below listed price. Bottomline, offer what you're happy to pay. It's up to them if they want to accept. I don't like that they use stock photos though.

    The "chocolate" Trend

Well, I think my friend is mad at me because I saw a nice triple strand of white pearls with a diamond clasp on her at her wedding. I asked about her clasp and she said she bought it in Phillippines as they supplied South Seas to Mikimoto. I didn't get a close look, but her strand would be...

    Tears of Mermaids Imminent

BTW, for those who already have the book, is it picture heavy at all? I realize it's a novel, but if there are alot of pictures I would lean towards a hardcopy rather than Kindle. Many thanks.

    Tears of Mermaids Imminent

It's been available for a month or so now. But this particular book isn't available in Kindle yet. My problem is no storage space, so apart from recipe books and picture-heavy books I generally don't buy hard copies.

    FW pearl shopping in China

I went just after Chinese New Year. That would be 14 Feb 2010. They shut down for about 2 weeks to rest/celebrate since rural folks who work in the city take the time to return home for a visit. That puts you in early March. In terms of weather March would be better - I remember it was near zero...

    FW pearl shopping in China

For small amounts, short answer would be no. If you want to see a large wholesale market in one of their farming towns, then yes for the experience. In general, farming towns do not have much in terms of attraction. I would not bother. If you go to Shanghai there are plenty of sights in the...

    How to Wear Pearls

The smaller freshies won't be that expensive anyway, so I don't think cost would be a problem there - those are too small to be Tahitians. The big ones might be, but noone really dyes high-grade freshwater pearls especially in that size and they still don't look Tahitian. I know we can't really...

    How to Wear Pearls

I'm sure she can afford real pearls, but it looks really monochromatic (though dyed freshwater can look like that) and looking at the size the big ones have got to be 12-13mm. I still think faux. Nothing wrong with faux pearls - they can make as much of a fashion statement as real.

    How to Wear Pearls

I'm guessing Michelle Obama was wearing faux pearls - the big ones look way too big and round, and it's probably easier/lighter to wear than real pearls. With faux it would be easier to string in shorter lengths and get them hooked together in a unique pattern like that.

The GIA course, is it updated yet?

I'm looking forward to that. I can probably do most of it by distance and time my trips to take the lab course in HK if they offer it internationally.
