To me it looks like baroque pearls strung on leather, with knots. Are you sure of the gold, diamonds and chain, and if so, where did you see this photo?

Those knots are a lot less fuzzy than the ones in the photos you posted on your original thread. Barely any fuzz, and I would say that is normal wear and tear. I'd say, "Focus more on the pearls and less on the knots", but you may just be more sensitive to the appearance of the knots than...

I edited the above post so please reread it. I am beginning to lean more toward akoyas, because a number of my impressions could just be because the pearls need to be cleaned and maybe that center pearl is showing some camera distortion. Do try the temperature test-- and please post what you find!

I believe the OP is referring to the metallic look of high luster pearls. I also recommend Pearl Paradise. Besides white akoya pearls (which may have silver overtones) there are also naturally colored silver /silver-blue akoyas, which have not been through the usual bleaching process.
