    IDing these pearls

If someone finds this later.... unless they are "triple dipped" imitation pearls...don't even get them wet! That coating will suddenly go, usually and in chunks! I read that you did give them a bath, so they are better coated that typical, but still, it will fail with more water.

I inherited pearls, and while there is so much great information, it's hard to make a call regarding these pearls!

Great pearl tests: gently rub 2 pearls together from your strand... Do they feel like fine sandpaper? or grip? (rub gently both ways) then they are gritty real pearls. If they mostly slide well (sometimes the paint makes them "sticky") then they are painted faux pearls. Finally, with clean...

How do I reuse these end cup/caps?

In case any one finds this later..... The cup seems to be filled with some sort of "putty" on one side, keeping the thread in. Depending on how easy it is to remove the "putty" I'll see how easy it is to reuse.

PSA - Fake Giant Clam Pearls | Tridacna Gigas

I would totally agree BWeaves...but the thing around me (We have several interesting religions in our area) is natural items for altars... I was wondering why someone was selling a shell with a lot of pearls as a unit? Was told it was for an altar... Since then I have seen lots marketed as...

PSA: FAKE Pearl Brand Scams, i.e. Manea Pearls, Marama Pearls on Instagram & Facebook

I am wondering if eBay is going to try to do anything about the new pearl sellers. (Probably not much they can...since eBay is now partially owned by China.) Currently a 3 strand pearl bracelet in 14k gold with gold spacers brand new is $28. But years ago I need a winter swimsuit & eBay &...

How do I reuse these end cup/caps?

I think they would be very useful on a vintage bead necklace that lost it's clasp. I play around with it. I also might use them with huge flame balls, where the clasp isn't quite big enough for my chunky fingers.

How do I reuse these end cup/caps?

Hmmm.....that doesn't seem very secure. It looks like a rivet tube is pressure fit (or glued) after you knot it. I am trying to figure out how either way works

    Sakura Pearls

Question about the Exquisite by Mikimoto...were all Exquisite a Mikimoto? I just got a neat Exquisite necklace (the case is very strong "old lady perfume...wow...letting that air out!) but the pearls are great. Mine does Not say mikimoto on the care sheet. Any other info?

Can this earring be fixed or does it need to be replaced?

Old super glue.. used to get losened with water. Gorilla super glue Gel does not seem to have that problem. I remember losing a pearl from washing my face too splashy.

Can this earring be fixed or does it need to be replaced?

Same Idea, but I like gorilla super glue gel, even on pearls... nice working time and I have NOT had moisture cause a problem.

Pearl nail polish...best color for "white" pearls? & best color for vintage faux pearls?

Sounds amazing...I'll have to look it up. So far Revlon Pure Pearl works better than what was on there!
