    Natural pearls?

My first thought after seeing the picture was chinese freshwater. A friend of mine is selling tumbled stones, and sometimes I help him. He has thousands of these button pearls, some are very nice, some has strong overtone, and-or nice shape. There is color variation, luster variation, freshwater...

    Candled Natural Pearls

use black wax, or like I made, a silicone piece with a hole, very useful to make candling, you avoid the strong light in the face (and camera and all goes inside the pearl, also, the pearl is held in place, so you can put exactly the way you want.

    parfaitelumiere natural pearl collection

It's a weird blister with some hand shaping. I have about hundred of old american freshwater pearls, and handwork was quite common. For the necklace, not easy to be sure from the picture, but description was mentioning "cultured or fine". Some color, luster, and shape variation can be good to...

Questions about vintage brooch on offer

Pearls are small but if price is decent, it's nice item. Not horse enthusiast related item, more a luck charm IMO, like those 4 leaves, or wishbones.

    what pearls?

I bought, because description was saying "13mm center pearl" . As 13mm akoyas didn't exist, this may have been natural strand. But if right description would have been made, 7mm center pearl, I would skip it and not buy, because it was meaning early uite baroque akoyas, maybe 20's or 30's This...

Hope it is, I bought it for the clasp, the diamonds seem enormous. I wanted to bid on another strand with a 1cm diamond, but price went too far, especially for cultured pearl strand.

    Should I buy these pearls?

Still interesting to read. I like to wait a bit, browe 40 or 50 "what do I have" threads, and find something interesting, both were in this thread: a clasp, and a small pendant.

    My akoyas

Hi everyone, I will put all my akoyas in same thread, easier for me to remember what I got or still have. Recently I found this piece, mainly for the clasp, but the 4 strands look not too bad. Still not in hand yet, I hope to see a good jeweller hallmark on it as I have a very nice 50's Cartier...

    Should I buy these pearls?

-first necklace is recent work, using I think a art deco period clasp, good one, ugly centerpiece, and no idea about the pearls, freshwater would be my best bet, kind of nice colors, but don't like the overal work. -second looks like antique pendant, natural pearls, maybe center is cultured and...
